About “Darwin's radio”

A 1999 novel by Greg Bear in which virus hunter Christopher Dicken investigates a mysterious disease that strikes only pregnant women and causes miscarriage, tracing it to something dormant in human DNA for millions of years. Molecular biologist Kaye Lang, who studies ancient retroviruses in the human genome, joins him as the outbreak threatens to become a deadly epidemic.
