About “Farnham's Freehold”

Hugh Farnham, a practical and self-made man, built a bomb shelter under his house as nuclear war loomed. He did not anticipate that the thermonuclear blast would disrupt time itself, sending his shelter to a world where no other humans remained. The story, set in 1964, follows Farnham's experiences in this strange, empty world. He must navigate the challenges of survival and the psychological effects of isolation. The novel explores themes of resilience and the human condition in the face of catastrophe. It is a science fiction work by Robert A. Heinlein.
