About “For us, the living”

For Us, the Living (2004 publication), Robert A. Heinlein's first novel, was originally written in 1938-9 but never published in his lifetime. This science fiction work is filled with themes used throughout his career. Navy flier Perry Nelson is killed in an auto accident in 1938 and awakens in 2086, spending the novel contrasting the reality of 1938 with the semi-utopian world of 2086.
