About “Glory Road”

Glory Road is a science-fantasy novel by Robert A. Heinlein, a renowned American writer known for his "hard" science fiction. Published in 1963 after being serialized in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, the book was nominated for a Hugo Award in 1964. The story follows E.C. "Oscar/Scar" Gordon, a soldier recovering from a tour in Southeast Asia. He answers an unusual personal ad that describes him in part—brave, tall, skilled in weapons, engineering, math, and fluent in French and English. He meets a mysterious woman known as "Star," who later reveals herself as the empress of twenty universes. The novel blends space adventure, swordplay, and sorcery.
