About “Joyland”

In 1973, in North Carolina, young university student Devin Jones gets a job at a small amusement park called Joyland. He works in maintenance, wears a mascot costume, and entertains children. There, he learns about a violent crime that happened in the park's haunted house, which remains unsolved. Mike, a sickly boy living near Devin's boarding house, becomes his friend. Mike has never visited Joyland and wants to go before he dies. Devin arranges a private visit at the end of the season. The day includes roller coasters and stories about the murdered girl. However, unwanted visits and questions can lead to unexpected reactions. Devin unknowingly enters a dangerous game from which he may never escape.
