About “Kaspar and other plays”
Kaspar is a play written by Austrian playwright Peter Handke. It was published in 1967 and marked Handke's first full-length drama. The play tells the story of Kaspar Hauser, a foundling who is nearly speechless and innocent. Society attempts to impose its language and rational values on him, leading to his destruction.
