Who is to Blame? is an 1845–6 novel by Alexander Herzen. It follows Dmitry Krutsifersky, a poor man who marries Lyubov, the illegitimate daughter of a rich landowner. Their happy life falls apart when Beltov, a wealthy and idle young man, starts an affair with Lyubov.
