About “Pirate Latitudes”

Pirate Latitudes is a 2009 novel by Michael Crichton set in the Caribbean in 1665. The story takes place in Jamaica, a remote English colony facing the Spanish empire. Port Royal, the capital, is a dangerous town filled with taverns and brothels. Captain Charles Hunter plans to steal gold from the Spanish galleon El Trinidad, which is in a heavily guarded harbor.
