About “Riding the Bullet”

Alan Parker, a college student, receives a call that his mother has had a stroke. He is unable to get a ride from the University of Maine campus to Lewiston, where she is hospitalized. A stranger offers him a ride, but the journey is dangerous and presents a difficult choice. The story is part of Everything's Eventual: 14 Dark Tales, a collection of short stories by Stephen King.
