About “Table Talk”

Table Talk is a collection of Martin Luther's remarks recorded by his students between 1531 and 1546. The sayings were made during informal settings, such as meals at Luther's home, the Lutherhaus, as well as walks in the garden and journeys. The text was compiled by several individuals, including Johannes Mathesius, J. Aurifaber, V. Dietrich, and Ernst Kroker. It was published in Eisleben in 1566. The work offers insights into Luther's thoughts and personality outside of his formal writings. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
