About “The Lion in Love”

The Lion in Love is a Greek cautionary tale included in Aesop's Fables, numbered 140 in the Perry Index. It was retold by Jean de la Fontaine, who gave it the title that is now commonly used. The story has been adapted by many artists and has taken on idiomatic meaning. Because of its theme, it has been used as the title for several literary works.
