"The Statement of Randolph Carter" is a short story by H. P. Lovecraft, written in December 1919 and first published in The Vagrant in May 1920. The story follows Randolph Carter, a student of the occult who experiences a traumatic event. Carter is loosely based on Lovecraft himself and appears for the first time in this story.
