After an unthinkable tragedy destroys his family, Kaine Reynolds cuts off all ties to his former life and retreats into solitude to battle his grief alone, going so far as to slam the door on Piper Campbell when she introduces herself as his new neighbor. Piper, set on starting over in Montana after a terrible divorce, is undeterred by his gruff demeanor and would not mind a fling to ease the pain of her husband's betrayal, with her rude but handsome neighbor as the candidate.
