In the follow-up to Tana French’s In the Woods, six months have passed and Cassie Maddox has left the Dublin Murder Squad with no intention of returning. However, an urgent phone call brings her to a grim crime scene where the victim resembles her and carries ID as Alexandra Madison, an alias she once used as an undercover officer.
