In the year 2051, Earth was on the verge of becoming a full member of the Galactic Milieu, a group of worlds across the galaxy. The powerful Remillard family led humanity, but an unknown force called "Fury" sought to remove them. Rogi Remillard, a key figure linked to the most powerful alien in the Milieu, and his nephew Marc, a highly gifted metapsychic, were the only ones who knew about Fury. However, they could not stop it as it began killing Remillards and other metapsychics, with all suspects being members of the family. Meanwhile, a new Remillard son was born, a boy with a mind more powerful than Marc's. His future was uncertain, as his own DNA threatened to destroy him—unless Fury reached him first.
