About “Mad Ship”
In the second book of Robin Hobb's Liveship Traders trilogy, the Vestrit clan and their liveship, Vivacia, face new challenges. The ancient trading traditions of Bingtown are fading under a corrupt ruler, and the Vestrits await the return of their magical ship, made from sentient wizardwood. Althea Vestrit longs to reclaim the Vivacia as her inheritance and captain her. However, the ship has been taken by the pirate captain Kennit, who holds Althea's nephew and father hostage. Althea and her former sea mate Brashen plan to rescue the ship, but their mission may be more dangerous than leaving it in Kennit's hands. The story continues the struggles of the Vestrits and the fate of the Vivacia.
