About “Shokugoshūi Wakashū”

The Shokugoshūi Wakashū is a Japanese imperial anthology of waka poetry. It was completed around 1325 or 1326 CE, two or three years after the Retired Emperor Go-Daigo ordered its compilation in 1323. Initially compiled by Fujiwara no Tamefuji, the work was finished by Fujiwara no Tamesada. The anthology consists of twenty volumes and contains 1,347 poems.
