About “Axis”

The novel takes place on the mysterious planet Equatoria, created by the enigmatic machine intelligences called the Hypotheticals. Turk Findley, a man with a criminal background, operates an aeronautical charter service on the planet. Lise Adams, who employs Turk, is a journalist searching for her missing father, a scientist who studied the Hypotheticals and their controversial life extension technology. Meanwhile, Isaac, a boy genetically altered to connect with the AIs, is growing up, as a vast and unknown force begins to form deep beneath the surface. The story explores themes of technology, identity, and the unknown.
