About “There Will Come Soft Rains”
"There Will Come Soft Rains" is a 1950 science fiction short story by Ray Bradbury, chronicling a lone house left intact in a California city otherwise obliterated by a nuclear bomb, before the house is destroyed in a windstorm-caused fire. Its title comes from a 1918 Sara Teasdale poem published during World War I and the Spanish flu pandemic. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
