Queen of the Damned is the third book in Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. It follows three parallel storylines. A rock star vampire, Lestat, prepares for a concert in San Francisco, unaware that many vampires plan to kill him. A group of people around the world experience a disturbing dream involving red-haired twins, drawing them together on a dangerous journey. Lestat's search for the origins of vampires awakens Akasha, the Queen of the Damned, who plans to save humanity by becoming a god. As the storylines connect, the origins and influence of vampires on the world are revealed. The novel concludes with the fate of the living and the undead being changed.
