Edna Ann Proulx (born 1935) is an American novelist, short story writer, and journalist, writing most frequently as Annie Proulx but also as E. Annie Proulx and E.A. Proulx. She won the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction for her first novel, Postcards, the first woman to receive that prize. Her second novel, The Shipping News (1993), won the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award and was adapted into a 2001 film; her short story "Brokeback Mountain" became an award-winning 2005 film.
