About “Agostino”
Thirteen-year-old Agostino spends the summer at a Tuscan seaside resort with his widowed mother. When she takes up with a new companion, Agostino, feeling ignored, begins associating with a group of local young toughs, growing masochistically drawn to their rough games despite his repulsion, as he struggles with confused feelings and a desire to separate from his mother.
