About “An Elephant in the Garden”

An Elephant in the Garden tells the story of Lizzie and Karl, whose mother is a zoo keeper, and their family's decision to hide an orphaned elephant named Marlene in their garden after she is spared from being destroyed during wartime. As the city is bombed and the family flees, they travel with Marlene and encounter Peter, a Canadian navigator, while facing the dangers of war and the challenge of keeping the elephant safe.
