About “Convivio”

Convivio is an unfinished work by Dante Alighieri, written between 1304 and 1307. The text is divided into four books, or "tratatti," including a prefatory section. The three main books each contain a canzone, a lyrical poem, followed by a prose commentary that interprets the poem. The commentary explores various themes and ideas, offering an allegorical analysis of the poetry. The work remains incomplete and was not published during Dante's lifetime.
