About “Milkweed”

The book is set in Nazi-occupied Warsaw during World War II and follows a boy who lives in the streets, steals food for himself and other orphans, and initially desires to become a Nazi. He undergoes a transformation after witnessing the suffering of the Jewish people and comes to understand the dangers of being invisible in a time of persecution.
