Songs of Innocence and of Experience is a collection of illustrated poems by William Blake. Originally, Blake published Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience as separate works. In 1794, he combined them into a single volume titled Songs of Innocence and of Experience Shewing the Two Contrary States of the Human Soul. Despite this combination, Blake continued to produce individual volumes for each set of poems. The collection includes poems that explore themes of innocence, experience, and the contrasting states of the human soul.
