About “The Book of Illusions”

A 2002 novel by Paul Auster in which Vermont professor David Zimmer, grieving the loss of his wife and sons in a plane crash, becomes obsessed with a lost film by silent comedian Hector Mann. His obsession leads him to publish a study of Mann's work, receive a letter claiming Mann is still alive, and eventually meet a mysterious woman who changes his life forever.
