About “The Captain's Daughter”
The Captain's Daughter is a historical novel by Russian writer Alexander Pushkin, first published in 1836 in the fourth issue of the literary journal Sovremennik. It is Pushkin's only completed novel and is a romanticized account of Pugachev's Rebellion, which took place from 1773 to 1774. The title The Captain's Daughter has also been used to refer to a collection of stories, one of which is the actual novel.
