Charles Darwin

1 series 12 books in order 11 standalone books

Charles Robert Darwin (1809–1882) was an English naturalist, geologist, and biologist, widely known for his contributions to evolutionary biology. His proposition that all species of life have descended from a common ancestor is now generally accepted as a fundamental scientific concept, and in a joint presentation with Alfred Russel Wallace he introduced the theory that evolution's branching pattern resulted from a process he called natural selection. He was honoured by burial in Westminster Abbey, and is credited on our catalog with Origin of Species in the Harvard Classics series. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
