About “Watt”
Watt is Samuel Beckett's second published novel in English. It was largely written on the run in the South of France during the Second World War. The novel was first published by Maurice Girodias's Olympia Press in 1953. Beckett wrote the book while living in exile, and it reflects the challenges of its creation during a time of global conflict. The novel is known for its experimental style and philosophical themes.
