About “Destination Unknown”
This 1954 novel by Agatha Christie follows Hilary Craven, who has lost the will to live, and is asked to impersonate a dead woman to trace her missing nuclear-scientist husband. The trail leads through a faked air disaster, a string of radio-active pearls, and a leper colony in the Moroccan desert. Christie partly based the book on the real-life cases of physicists Bruno Ponecorvo and Emil Fuchs.
