About “Sparkling Cyanide”

Six people sit down to a sumptuous meal at a table meant for seven. A sprig of rosemary, symbolizing remembrance, marks the empty place. It is the first anniversary of the death of Rosemary Barton, who was poisoned with cyanide-laced champagne. The guests are the same as those at the meal a year earlier, and her widower, George Barton, is determined to uncover who among them is responsible for her death. His dinner party and quest for justice go wrong when another death occurs on the same date. Colonel Race, a member of the British Secret Service and a character from other Agatha Christie novels, is present to investigate the new crime. The story is part of a 1945 novel by Agatha Christie.
