About “The Mousetrap”
Mollie and Giles Ralston have just opened their guesthouse, Monkswell Manor, for the first time. They are inexperienced and face challenges, including an unexpected heavy snowstorm. They hear about a murder in London on the radio, where the suspect is described as wearing a dark overcoat, a light scarf, and a soft felt hat—clothing similar to what Giles and some guests are wearing. After the guests arrive, Mollie gets a call from the police, informing her that Sergeant Trotter will be coming to the manor. The sergeant arrives on skis and tells the guests that a notebook found at the murder scene includes the address of Monkswell Manor, suggesting it may be the next target. This sets the stage for a tense and mysterious situation.
