About “The unexpected guest”

Driving through dense Welsh fog, Michael Starkwedder crashes his car into a ditch. After finding his way to an isolated house, he encounters Laura Warwick near the body of her wheelchair-bound husband, Richard, with a revolver in her hand. She confesses to the murder and asks Michael to help her create a cover story. However, it is unclear if Laura is truly guilty. She may be protecting someone else—perhaps the victim's mentally disabled half-brother, her lover, or the father of the boy Richard accidentally killed. The house is filled with potential suspects.
